Wolf and the Time Warp Trouble

Chapter 1: A Glitch in the Stars
Wolf was playing zero gravity fetch with Moon in the observation deck of the Wolf Rocket, the stars sprawling endlessly outside the panoramic dome. Moon, his ever loyal space weenie dog, twirled through the air after a glowing orb toy, tail wagging in slow motion.
Just as Moon made his triumphant catch, the stars outside began to flicker. Not twinkle but flicker like an old TV set losing signal. Entire constellations blinked out of sync, and one comet even reversed direction mid-flight.
“What in the galactic glitch?” Wolf muttered, floating to the command console. He tapped a few buttons and activated the anomaly scanner.
The screen buzzed with interference. His communicator crackled to life, projecting Doctor WOW’s face in a fuzzy, scrambled hologram. “Wolf...time... loop... Nemisens... tech (zzzzz) hurry!”
And just like that, the message cut out.
Wolf’s eyes narrowed. “Time loops? This sounds way above regular weird.”
Moon barked twice, the second bark coming half a second before the first.
“I’ll take that as a yes,” Wolf said, already slamming the launch button.
The Wolf Rocket roared to life. Lights dimmed, engines flared, and the ship shot out of its orbit like a laser blast, streaking toward the unknown.
Chapter 2: The Broken Clock Nebula
Doctor WOW’s coordinates led to the Broken Clock Nebula, a swirling, golden-purple storm shaped like a ticking timepiece. It rotated against the natural flow of space. Closer in, space began behaving irrationally. Planets spun backwards. Moons orbited in jerky loops. Light flickered in beats, and even sound lagged behind itself.
Moon barked but they heard it before he opened his mouth.
“Something is seriously scrambled here,” Wolf muttered. He gripped the controls tighter as the Wolf Rocket coasted toward the epicenter.
There, a fractured space station hovered, caught mid-collapse, cycling endlessly through an implosion and explosion every ten seconds.
As they docked, three versions of Doctor WOW appeared at once.
“Wolf! You made it!” said one.
“Or haven’t yet!” said another.
“Or did, but yesterday!” added the third.
Wolf looked from one to the other. “Doc, you’ve officially broken my brain.”
The versions merged into one. “The Nemisens stole the Time Twister Core, a prototype that alters temporal fields. They damaged it, and now time is unraveling across this sector.”
Behind them, a star blinked out and reappeared a second later.
Chapter 3: The Nemisens Strike Back
Doctor WOW led Wolf and Moon into the core chamber, a circular lab flickering between time states. “The Core can rewind or fast-forward time in localized areas. But the Nemisens tried plugging it into a wormhole and broke the symmetry.”
“And if they plug it into a black hole?” Wolf asked.
“Then the galaxy could rewind into nonexistence,” said WOW gravely.
Wolf strapped on his anti-temporal boots, the soles glowing blue with phase stabilizers. Moon’s collar emitted a quiet hum, adjusting for time drift.
“Moon, stick close. Things are about to get paradoxical.”
Suddenly, a flickering shadow passed the window. A Nemisen cruiser, black and spiked, hovered silently. It launched a payload that cracked space as it fell, an unstable time rift bomb.
Chapter 4: Warp Speed Showdown
Wolf launched from the airlock riding a space cycle armed with chrono-magnets and a time-skip engine. Moon zipped alongside in his time resistant bubble suit, barking at the looming cruiser.
Missiles sliced through warped space, curving at impossible angles. One brushed Wolf’s cycle, causing time to skip. He saw himself a second ahead, then behind.
“Focus, Wolf!” he growled, engaging the Time Field Wristband gifted by one of the future Doctor WOWs. Time slowed around him as a rewinding asteroid tumbled toward the Nemisens. He nudged it just enough to send it slamming into the cruiser’s main cannon.
Meanwhile, Moon slipped through the outer shell of the time rift. Inside, logic bent and gravity reversed every other second. Moon had to cling to a panel with his teeth. With determination, he tore loose a key cable, triggering a containment failure.
Back outside, Wolf closed in on the Time Twister Core mounted to the cruiser’s temporal array. He dodged energy blasts that hadn’t fired yet predicted future movements with ease, and finally reached the core.
With seconds left, he reversed the core’s polarity and yanked it free.
The time rift imploded in on itself, collapsing the cruiser’s hull with it. The Nemisens let out a final screech, echoing backward before vanishing into unreality.
Time snapped back to normal with a massive whomp.
Chapter 5: Cosmic Cleanup
Back aboard the Wolf Rocket, Doctor WOW slumped into a chair with all four arms. “I aged ten years and de-aged five during that mess.”
He handed Wolf a sealed case. Inside was a new prototype labeled: DO NOT OPEN EVER.
Wolf raised an eyebrow. “Tempting label.”
“Exactly why I’m giving it to you,” WOW replied. “If I keep it, I’ll definitely open it.”
Moon barked once, then twice, a normal order this time, and curled up at Wolf’s feet.
Wolf slid into the pilot seat and looked out at the stars.
“So, where to next Moon?”
Moon’s tail thumped in response.
Wolf hit the throttle. The Wolf Rocket leapt forward, leaving behind streaks of blue light and a fixed timeline… for now.
The End… until next time bends.
